Innotrans
September 24 to 27, 2024
According to the International Energy Agency, the rail sector consumes 2% of the world's energy and is responsible for 0.3% of direct CO2 emissions (the transport sector as a whole accounts for 24% of global emissions).
By 2050, half of humanity will be living in towns and cities, which means that rail transport must be even more environmentally-friendly (pollution, noise pollution).
The electrification of rail transport is therefore set to continue, with almost 97% of passenger rail travel powered by electricity (and two-thirds of freight).
In total, global investment in the rail sector could reach $475 billion a year by 2050 (including $315 billion in rail infrastructure).
To take part in these major societal developments, Gindre exhibited at the world's largest rail show, Innotrans. It takes place every two years in Berlin, with nearly 2,700 exhibitors in total, 56 countries represented, and around 140,000 visitors.
Our teams were on hand from September 24 to 27, 2024, to help solve your sustainable copper design and supply issues for your traction systems, catenaries and electrical substations.
