Better value through transformation.

Recycling AND circular economy

Our copper, committed to the planet.

We have always been committed to respecting the environment and have made it an essential part of Gindre's DNA. The opportunity to recycle copper ad infinitum enables us to limit our carbon footprint. From the production of our raw materials to the manufacture of our finished products, we value and transform our copper in an eco-responsible way.

our history

Two centuries of know-how

Established since 1823 in Pont-de-Chéruy (France), we are passionate about transforming non-ferrous metals. Through the industrial revolution and up to the advent of electricity, a new world opened up, revealing copper as the indispensable metal for the electrical industry. Since the middle of the 20th century, we have focused our activities on the ecologically responsible transformation of copper. Over the last few decades, the Group has moved closer to its customers through international development and expansion. Now vertically integrated, from smelting to distribution, including the manufacture of semi-finished products and components, we are proud to meet tomorrow's energy challenges.

our case studies

Co-development of busbars for batteries and motors

Vehicle and locomotive busbars have to be constantly rethought in terms of cross-sections, shapes and materials to meet safety and energy performance requirements.

Multiphysics software for copper cross-section optimization

Copper, crucial to the energy and digital transition, is used in power generation, power supplies and vehicles. With demand set to double in 5 years, busbars need to be rethought to reduce copper usage while maintaining their performance and durability.

Upcycling - virtuous recycling of copper scrap

Copper is essential for the energy and digital transition, with the European objective of 25% recycled materials by 2030. Strong demand is coming from the electricity and transport sectors. The Gindre Group and Montanwerke Brixlegg, both active in recycling, already comply with environmental standards.
